Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026.
polititune is a news site about U.S. Senate hearings, published by Eric Vendramim Cocozza, a sole proprietor in Providence, Rhode Island ("polititune", "we"). This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
The short version: we don't ask readers for personal information, we don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share data about our readers.
When you read polititune.com
- No accounts or sign-ups. You can read everything without giving us any information.
- No advertising, no tracking cookies, and no third-party trackers or social media widgets.
- Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics and Plausible Analytics to count visits, such as which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, which site or social post sent them, and whether an article video was played. Neither uses cookies or identifies individual visitors. Cloudflare and Plausible process this data under their own privacy policies.
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our servers and our hosting provider (DigitalOcean) record technical details of each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure, never to profile readers.
- Your display setting. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your own browser and never leaves your device.
When you contact us
If you email us with a tip, a correction request or a question, we receive your email address and whatever you send. We use it to reply and, for corrections, to investigate and publish a correction. We don't add you to any mailing list.
People in our reporting
Our articles cover public U.S. Senate hearings. They quote senators, witnesses and others speaking on the public record, each quote checked against the hearing transcript, and may show video of those moments. If you appear in our coverage and believe something is inaccurate, please contact us; see our corrections policy at polititune.com/about/corrections.
Our social media accounts
We post our articles to X (@Polititune), Bluesky (@polititune.com) and Instagram (@polititune). Those posts may tag the official accounts of the senators, committees and organizations quoted, from a list of public accounts we keep for that purpose. We don't collect information about the people who follow, like or share our posts beyond the totals those services show us. When you use X, Bluesky or Instagram, their own privacy policies apply.
Sharing
We don't sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the site (DigitalOcean for hosting, Cloudflare for DNS and visitor statistics, Plausible for visitor statistics), or when the law requires it.
How long we keep information
- Emails: as long as needed to handle your message, and deleted on request.
- Server logs: only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
You can ask to see or delete information we hold about you at any time; see polititune.com/about/data-deletion.
Children
polititune is a general news site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
